Exposure to UV rays can cause skin damage, ranging from premature aging to sunburn, and even more serious risks such as skin cancer. Proper sun protection helps prevent these effects by filtering harmful rays, while preserving the health and radiance of your skin.

UVA rays (longer wavelength) penetrate deeply into the skin, contributing to skin aging and potentially damaging cell DNA. UVB rays (shorter wavelength) mainly affect the epidermis, causing sunburn and burns, and are the main factor in skin cancer. Broad-spectrum protection is essential to limit these effects.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates the level of protection against UVB rays, which are responsible for sunburn. For example, SPF 30 filters about 97% of UVB rays, while SPF 50 blocks 98%.

The choice of SPF depends on your skin type, the intensity of sun exposure, and the amount of time spent in the sun:

– SPF 30: recommended for moderate exposure.
– SPF 50+: advised for fair, sensitive skin or in cases of intense sunlight (beach, mountains).

In all cases, reapplying every two hours and after swimming is essential for effective protection.

Yes, because 80% of UV rays pass through clouds (WHO, 2002). In winter, reflection off snow can double UV exposure, especially at altitude. Sun protection remains essential to prevent skin aging and UV-related damage all year round.

For optimal protection, apply 2 mg of sunscreen per cm² of skin, which is about one teaspoon for the face and neck and about six teaspoons for the whole body (Diffey u0026amp; Robson, 1997). Insufficient application significantly reduces the effectiveness of the SPF.

It is recommended to reapply sunscreen every two hours, and after each swim, sweating, or rubbing (towel, clothing). Even water-resistant formulas lose effectiveness over time. Continuous protection is essential to limit UV damage.

Choose SPF 50+, a fragrance-free, alcohol-free formula tested under dermatological control. Hypoallergenic textures enriched with soothing active ingredients are ideal to limit skin reactions.
